Our May 2024 trip to Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood
Mad Tea Party
Thunder Mountain again
I met up with everyone at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. We got a return time for 10:50 AM and then, while waiting, Leanne and the kids climbed the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.
Lunch at Café Orleans
After Pirates of the Caribbean, we ate our lunch at the table service restaurant Café Orleans.
We sat outside.
Enchanted Tiki Room
Apparently mother really likes the Tiki room so we made sure we got that done right after lunch.
The girls enjoyed it too.
I can never stay awake in this ride.
Woody and Jessie
At 1:30 PM, we got our picture taken with Woody and Jessie. It was fun.
Grandma took the picture and then Woody went over to her to make sure she had taken it correctly. She literally had to show him the picture she took and then he approved it with a big thumbs up.
Hyperspace Mountain
Harry was very interested in going on hyperspace mountain but no one else wanted to go on it. Since he has been so well behaved this trip we made it a point to get over there to Tomorrowland again so he could ride it. Harry used the single rider line which saved him quite a bit of time.
Leanne was quite nervous to let him ride alone, but he was fine of course.
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
I love the Disneyland version of this attraction much better than Disney World. The guns are not fixed to the ride vehicle unlike Disney World. I can actually put the gun up to my eye to aim properly. I can actually hit targets! (Usually I just press triggers as fast as possible, aim randomly and hope for the best.)
Star Tours
While still in Tomorrowland, we went on Star Tours again.
Daisy bought a plush version of that BB-8 droid.
She is really getting into Star Wars now.
After the ride we had to navigate around a bunch of vomiting kids.
Leanne apparently really likes this ride and I do too so we got a lightning lane for it at 3:30 PM.
We headed back to Toon Town and did it again.
Dinner at Café Daisy
Since we were still in Toontown and the food seemed reasonable (selection NOT price), we ate at Café Daisy.
They serve hotdogs and pizza basically. Nothing special except the hotdogs are foot-long’s.
Harry must’ve been full from lunch from his massive deep-fried Monti Cristo sandwich because he had a kids meal this time which on this trip, was a first.
Daisy meeting Rey
Daisy really wanted to go back to Galaxy’s Edge and see Rey again, so I took her and Harry there after supper. She wanted her hair up like Rey’s too. Rey complimented her on it and it made Daisy’s day.
Afterwards the three of us rode the Millennium Falcon ride one more time. Daisy and Harry were gunners and I was the lone engineer.
Jessie
The girls were excited to meet Jessie in Frontierland.
King Arthur’s Carousel
Before leaving the park, Daisy wanted to go on the carousel and Harry, being a good sport as always, went with us.
Final day, California Adventure
Arrived inside the park at 7:40 AM. Hoping to rope drop Radiator Springs Racers again and hopefully it’ll be open this time.
Magnolia is flipping out because she is cold and will only wear her black sweater that is back at the hotel.
Radiator Springs Racers
Entered the queue at 8:09 AM. Waited about 30 minutes to get on the ride.
Mater’s junkyard jamboree
Had another ride on Mater’s junkyard jamboree at 9 AM since we were still in cars land. No wait.
Incredicoaster
Arrived at the Incredicoaster at approximately 9:05 AM. This will be the biggest and scariest coaster the kids have been on so far. Magnolia is too short. I am too cowardly like grandma to go on it.
This coaster features high acceleration and an inversion.
It made Daisy woozy. Harry enjoyed it.
Jessie‘s carrousel
At 9:40 AM, we went on Jessie‘s carrousel before toy story.
It was quite boring, but the kids liked it, and even grandma went on it.
