Daisy at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Daisy’s appointment was at 9am. She first got to pick a hairstyle. She chose a high bun with a braid and a big pink bow.

While one “fairy godmother in training” worked on her hair, another one painted her nails and applied blush, eye shadow and lip colour. (The girls got to take their leftover nail polish and makeup palettes home, along with a pink t-shirt and sash, and all their hair accessories, in a pink Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique backpack.)

After sprinkling her hair with some sparkly fairy dust and saying the magic words, “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!” the fairy godmother in training pulled back the curtain to reveal a mirror so Princess Daisy could see herself.

The crown (and dress) we bought on Amazon (and Daisy later moved it to a more comfortable position on her head).

They didn’t get a choice of nail colour, just sparkles.

Second day at Disneyland

Arrived at the park at 8 AM. Went on Buzz Lightyear and then Star Tours. Next stop is Bibiddi Bobiddi Boutique for Daisy’s appointment.

The girls held hands the entire way from our hotel to the park. A security guard bowed to them and said, “Princesses!”

Left USH at approximately 7:30 PM

Topped up the tank of our minivan with some gas at about 8:30 PM and dropped off our rental vehicle at the Alamo right beside our hotel a few minutes later.

Both Daisy and Magnolia fell asleep on the way home.

The kids on our way out of Universal Studios Hollywood

Finding our car

Leaving the park was fairly simple. We parked in the Jurassic parking lot and of course, as we always do, took a picture of the sign in front of our car to indicate the correct parking lot to return to. However, the signage in Universal Studios Hollywood absolutely stinks. They should fire everyone related to parking and signage at Universal.

We must’ve spent a good 20 minutes or so taking an elevator to various levels of the parking garage to try and find the correct level. You’d think that the B1 level would be the correct one, but it only took us to B1J and B1K not B1L. And again there is no signage to indicate how to get to B1L from B1J and B1K.

We did eventually make it out of Universal parking structure in a vehicle. The vehicle we brought.

We had to walk down a ramp to get there which it was not very safe, but who cares we made it.

I know they say that LA traffic is bad but in our experience, it’s the parking!

Shopping

After dinner, we let the kids go shopping. We went through a few stores in Hogsmeade. Daisy bought an interactive wand at Olivanders and Maggie bought a cheaper one that just lights up.

On our way out of the park, the kids spent more of their money at the Nintendo store to get some more plush Nintendo characters.

Dinner at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade

We had dinner around 4:30 PM at the Three Broomsticks. We ordered a dinner for four which came with roasted chicken, ribs, vegetables, potatoes and corn on the cob. Way more food than the 6 of us could eat.

We also split a hot butter beer.

Waterworld

After minions, we went to see the Waterworld 3:45 PM show.

There was a pre-show with some minor stunts, which was pretty good.

The main show was wonderfully violent with lots of firearms.

A mini gun and bazooka effect was also used.

The plot was a little weak, but it was still very exciting.

Harry gives the show 2 thumbs up

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

After lunch, we went on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Maggie and grandma stayed off. Maggie is too short and Grandma is too scared.

It was a 45 minute wait which wasn’t too bad for such a great ride.

Daisy and Harry loved it. So did I.

The dementors scared Daisy a bit but she survived. She didn’t care for the giant fuzzy spiders either.

I love that this ride is basically and industrial automation robot on a track.

We don’t have photos because this ride makes you use lockers as you are almost put upside down and I think even my phone could have slipped out.

Universal Studios Tour

The tour took us onto the actual Universal Studios lot. We saw actual soundstages that are actively being used to film shows and movies.

They also had a few attraction like areas for us to go through, like a 3-D King Kong adventure, a violent car chase from Fast and the Furious, and a pretty cool earthquake/water simulation in a subway station.

I had to hold onto Magnolia a few times on some of the scarier parts.

In the queue at 10:50 AM.

Our Super Nintendo Land early entry gave us an Express Pass for this.

It’s apparently about an hour long.

The Simpsons ride

Exited Super Nintendo Land at approximately 9:30 AM and entered Simpsons queue. Waited around at the upper lot for mother as she needed her special transport again.

The kid’s like to entertain themselves in line with Rock-Paper-Scissors.

Mario Kart Bowser’s Challenge

Very, very unique ride. They mixed augmented reality via a headset with steering controls on a dark ride track. It’s a little disorienting and very confusing in the beginning, but probably the coolest tech I’ve ever experienced in my life.
